Playground Sports evolved from a question asked by my twin 9 year old boys one day after school. They came home from school and said, "Dad, can you build a goal post for the back yard so we can kick footballs?" After some serious thought, the original design of the All Sports Station came about.

My name is Ken Cosper and I am the owner, president and inventor of the All Sports Station and Playground Sports. After spending the last several years in the commercial playground industry, and countless hours observing my own children during recess at school and in after school sports, I came to realize that there is a void in playground equipment designed for developing throwing, kicking and running skills for young athletes. I believe that play is essential in our children’s physical development and playground equipment has been a tremendous asset in that development. Playground equipment develops strength, coordination and social skills that are critical to our kid’s well being.

However, many kids lose interest in playing on traditional playground equipment. From my own observations, I would estimate that 60-70% of kids at an elementary school never play on the playground equipment, especially after 2nd grade. When I go to recess at school, my kids run right past the playground equipment and out into a grassy field or a blacktop, where they play football, soccer, baseball, basketball, and any other game they can think of. I would suggest you really observe your kids at recess and look at where they play. My goal is to build quality products that take advantage of the field space outside of the traditional playground pit that maximize a child’s athletic abilities and creativity.

Childhood obesity is a serious problem we face as parents, and kids need ways to stimulate their senses without looking at video games, computers, cell phones and all the other electronic devices available today. The All Sports Station is the first of many ideas developed to give kids fun and stimulating opportunities to practice and build athletic skills that will benefit them the rest of their lives.

I also hope your future quarterback, place kicker, punter, pitcher, or soccer star enjoys the All Sports Station and practices with it for hours to build the skills they need for life.
